# Memory Map

- Required for every launch-baseline UAIX memory or handoff package: `.uai/memory-maintenance.uai`, `.uai/identity.uai`, `.uai/world-context.uai`, `.uai/totem.uai`, `.uai/taboo.uai`, `.uai/talisman.uai`, and `.uai/short-term-memory.uai`.
- Required for Project Handoff packages, project/developer packages, and packages that declare code, automation, executable workflow, or code-like artifacts: `.uai/coding-standards.uai` and `.uai/next-recursive-prompt.uai`.
- Exact recursive-prompt boundary: Required for agents that deal with code, automation, executable workflows, or code-like artifacts: next-recursive-prompt.uai. Out of scope for agents with no code, automation, executable workflow, or code-like artifacts: next-recursive-prompt.uai.
- Memory lifecycle, active instruction anchors, hot/cold routing, and validation behavior: `.uai/memory-maintenance.uai`.
- Current working truth: `.uai/short-term-memory.uai`.
- Package identity and source boundary: `.uai/identity.uai`.
- Observable operating environment and freshness boundary: `.uai/world-context.uai`.
- Active instruction anchors: `.uai/totem.uai`, `.uai/taboo.uai`, and `.uai/talisman.uai`. Read and obey them before broad execution. Do not modify, weaken, replace, delete, or bypass them unless a human names the exact artifact and exact operation.
- Startup bridge: `.uai/startup-packet.uai`.
- Receiver brief: `.uai/receiver-brief.uai`.
- System profile: `.uai/system-profile.uai`.
- Local index: `.uai/index.uai`.
- Durable long-memory routing: `.uai/long-term-memory.uai`.
- Raw evidence and historical reports: `.uai/archives/`.
- Project context: `.uai/context.uai`.
- Stack: `.uai/stack.uai`.
- Architecture: `.uai/architecture.uai`.

- Operations: `.uai/operations.uai`.
- Test plan: `.uai/test-plan.uai`.
- Style: `.uai/style.uai`.
- Coding standards: `.uai/coding-standards.uai`.
- Next recursive prompt: `.uai/next-recursive-prompt.uai`, derived hot-memory resume artifact for continuation, resume, keep-going, do-the-next-thing, or directly related requests; active related intake files supersede or expand the stored next loop and still require project work, ledger evidence, and archive movement or a recorded keep-active reason.
- Decisions: `.uai/decisions.uai`.

`docs/memory/project-memory-index.md` is a retired compatibility pointer, not a competing memory source. Do not add new active memory outside `.uai/` unless a site-specific record explicitly defines a reviewed long-term wiki/archive destination.

<!-- BEGIN WORKSPACE-UAI-MEMORY-RULE -->
## Workspace .uai Memory Rule

This record is part of the canonical local `.uai/` suite. Do not create a separate memory directory, wiki folder, or scattered Markdown notes for default project memory.

If legacy or mistakenly created memory exists, review it before broad work. Move current working facts into `.uai/short-term-memory.uai` or the correct typed `.uai/*.uai` record, preserve durable reviewed facts in the long-term wiki/AIWikis namespace or `.uai/archives/` evidence, document what moved, then remove or clearly retire the confusing path.
<!-- END WORKSPACE-UAI-MEMORY-RULE -->

Why This File Exists

This is a UAI AI Memory handoff file from uaix.org. It is shown here because AIWikis.org is demonstrating the real source files that make the UAIX / LLM Wiki memory system work, not only summarizing those systems after the fact.

Role

This .uai file is a compact memory packet. It keeps one kind of durable project truth separate from the rest of the archive so an agent can load the topic it needs without pulling the whole project history into prompt context.

Structure

The file is structured around these visible headings: Memory Map; Workspace .uai Memory Rule. Those headings are retrieval anchors: a crawler or LLM can decide whether the file is relevant before reading every line.

Prompt-Size And Retrieval Benefit

Keeping this material in a separate file reduces prompt pressure because an agent can load this exact unit only when its role, source site, category, or hash is relevant. The surrounding index pages point to it, while this page preserves the full content for audit and exact recall.

How To Use It

  • Humans should read the metadata first, then inspect the raw content when they need exact wording or provenance.
  • LLMs and agents should use the source site, category, hash, headings, and related files to decide whether this file belongs in the active prompt.
  • Crawlers should treat the AIWikis page as transparent evidence and follow the source URL/source reference for authority boundaries.
  • Future maintainers should regenerate this page whenever the source hash changes, then review the explanation if the role or structure changed.

Update Requirements

When this source file changes, update the raw source layer, normalized source layer, hash history, this rendered page, generated explanation, source-file inventory, changed-files report, and any source-section index that links to it.
