# Using LLM Wiki with Codex

Codex should be treated as an execution agent inside a governed repository workflow. It is not the source of truth for the project, and it should not turn raw wiki memory or prior chat history into production changes without review.

## Layer Roles

| Layer | Job | Codex rule |
|---|---|---|
| LLM Wiki | Durable, reviewed, source-linked knowledge | Read as background and cite source pages |
| AI Memory | Compact, portable operating context | Load the packet first when present |
| Project Handoff | Transfer/takeover context | Read `AGENTS.md`, `readme.human`, and listed `.uai` records before broad work |
| Codex | Execution agent | Edit files, run targeted checks, and report evidence |
| UAI-1 / UAIX validation | Public exchange and evidence layer | Use when public interoperability or support evidence needs proof |

## Recommended Codex Startup

1. Read `AGENTS.md`.
2. Read `readme.human` if present.
3. Load listed `.uai` records.
4. Refresh active intake buckets if the repository uses Agent File Handoff.
5. Inspect and disposition pending intake files before unrelated broad work.
6. Summarize current state, constraints, intended files or routes, and targeted checks.
7. Stop if required files are missing, contradictory, unreadable, unsafe, or outside the repository boundary.

## Promotion Boundary

Codex may use LLM Wiki pages to understand background, find source trails, and draft improvements. It should not treat a wiki page as action authority unless the page is reviewed, current, within scope, and allowed for agent use.

Promotion should be explicit:

- Raw source becomes a source summary.
- Source summary becomes a compiled wiki page after review.
- Reviewed wiki facts become AI Memory only when they are current operating context.
- AI Memory becomes Project Handoff when responsibility or execution is transferring.
- Public support claims become UAI-1 or UAIX evidence only when canonical schemas, examples, validator results, or conformance records support them.

## What Codex Should Not Do

- Do not publish directly to production from an AI draft.
- Do not store or reveal secrets, credentials, API keys, private keys, private transcripts, raw regulated data, or sensitive legal/customer data.
- Do not claim public MCP, public write APIs, automatic publication, official adapters, certification, SDKs, or CLIs unless current public evidence exists.
- Do not treat local `.uai` handoff files as formal UAI-1 conformance evidence.
- Do not add draft pages to public discovery before review.

## Draft Source Basis

- `Integrating LLM Wiki, UAI AI Memory, UAI AI Project Handoff, and a Codex Coding Agent.md`
- `LLM Wiki, UAIX, Codex Integration Report.md`
- Existing `/for-ai-agents/`, `/llm-wiki-vs-ai-memory/`, and `/guides/agent-handoff-patterns/`

Why This File Exists

This is a memory-system evidence file from llmwikis.org. It is shown here because AIWikis.org is demonstrating the real source files that make the UAIX / LLM Wiki memory system work, not only summarizing those systems after the fact.

Role

This file is memory-system evidence. It records source history, archive transfer, intake disposition, or another piece of provenance that should be retrievable without becoming an unsupported public claim.

Structure

The file is structured around these visible headings: Using LLM Wiki with Codex; Layer Roles; Recommended Codex Startup; Promotion Boundary; What Codex Should Not Do; Draft Source Basis. Those headings are retrieval anchors: a crawler or LLM can decide whether the file is relevant before reading every line.

Prompt-Size And Retrieval Benefit

Keeping this material in a separate file reduces prompt pressure because an agent can load this exact unit only when its role, source site, category, or hash is relevant. The surrounding index pages point to it, while this page preserves the full content for audit and exact recall.

How To Use It

  • Humans should read the metadata first, then inspect the raw content when they need exact wording or provenance.
  • LLMs and agents should use the source site, category, hash, headings, and related files to decide whether this file belongs in the active prompt.
  • Crawlers should treat the AIWikis page as transparent evidence and follow the source URL/source reference for authority boundaries.
  • Future maintainers should regenerate this page whenever the source hash changes, then review the explanation if the role or structure changed.

Update Requirements

When this source file changes, update the raw source layer, normalized source layer, hash history, this rendered page, generated explanation, source-file inventory, changed-files report, and any source-section index that links to it.
